FAQ

Common questions.

What is the difference between an Ontario and a Federal corporation?

An Ontario corporation is incorporated under Ontario law. A Federal corporation exists nationally. Federal takes longer, comes with dual filing responsibilities, and charges businesses for annual returns, while Ontario is more expensive at inception. .

Most DIY founders choose Federal because it is $100 cheaper in government fees, but do not realize they are signing up for double the paperwork for the life of the company.

What is a numbered company?

A numbered company gets an automatically assigned number instead of a chosen name — for example, 123456789 Ontario Inc. It is faster, cheaper, and completely legitimate. Most founders use a trade name for their brand regardless of what their corporation is officially called.

What does document preparation service mean?

Solo Hub prepares and files your incorporation documents on your behalf. We are not your lawyer and this is not legal advice. The product was built by lawyers — but if your situation needs legal advice, we will tell you and connect you with the right help.

What do I get after I incorporate?

Your certificate of incorporation, articles, minute book organizer, share certificate, and a plain-English summary written for your specific business type. Plus a 90-day action checklist covering everything you need to do next — bank account, HST registration, first organizational meeting, and more.

What is the platform and when is it available?

The full Solo Hub platform will include a compliance calendar, invoicing and HST tracking, minute book management, document templates, and a monthly check-in that handles all your business admin in 30 minutes. It is in active development. Incorporate now and you will be first in line when it launches.
